Grouse Mountain... snowy, yes... but does
it look familiar? Hint: Check out 'Ascension'. In any case, this
cool place is only fifteen minutes drive from downtown, and then a very
high skyride (picture to the left, sailing over the clouds!) to the top...
where you step out, in our case (ie. January), to an amazing winter wonderland!!

There is so much to see in this beautiful city, and
in fact, though it may seem kind of obsessed, my brother, Josh, who was
travelling with me, agreed that we would never have found/seen such amazing
places (eg. Buntzen Lake, near Anmore)
if it had not have been for me pulling out my notes on filming locations,
grabbing a map of Vancouver and putting Xs
all over it - literally!! There is so much more that I didn't get
to check out 'cos of time restraints and weather problems; White Rock ('Humbug'),
Crescent Beach (Mulder family summer home from 'Talitha Cumi'), Simon Fraser
University ('Fallen Angel') and more... but hey, that leaves something
to do for next time!! Go to The
V-Files as your location source and remember that the truth IS out
there, you just have to know where to look! <g>

In LOS ANGELES now - and if you don't recognise
this, and you call yourself an 'X-Files' fan... WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?
I have barely been more excited than when a friend told me that the ship
my fave ep ('Triangle') was filmed on was open to the public! Docked
at Long Beach, The Queen Mary (or, known to us as The Queen
Anne) is a real treat to visit!!!

And finally, the very very very cool Santa Monica Pier, seen in 'The Amazing
Maleenii'!!

And if you want to see where set filming is,
go have a look at the FOX Studios at Century City - 10201 Pico Blvd. They
don't do tours any more, but you might see someone famous driving in or
out of there! X-Files is filmed way up the back of the lot, stages
5 & 6 where among other indoor scenes which are filmed, are permanent
sets of Mulder's apartment, Scully's apartment, the FBI building/hallway,
Skinner's office and Mulder's office!!
