"Every day we have is one more
than we deserve."
Based on a true story, this is *the* most beautiful
story. Sally - renamed Tally (Michelle Pfeiffer)- wanted to be a star reporter.
Warren Justice (Robert Redford) was the only one who took her in. Despite
her mistakes, he noticed that she 'eats the lens' and so she became his
'protégé' of sorts. Both were wary of each other as he helped
her career grow, yet everyone could *feel* the chemistry looming between
Pfeiffer and Redford.
"Do you want to be with me?"
"So much it hurts."
Tally's talent started to bloom and so the job
offers started rolling in. She accepted one in Philadelphia, and then came
the time when Tally and Warren had to either forget their feelings, or
consummate them.
"Why didn't we do this before?"
"Because it was always gonna be this
hard to stop."
So, to the beautiful "Because You Loved Me", we
see Tally and Warren make precious a few sweet days in Miami until she
was finally bound for Philli.
By herself in the foreign city though, Tally became
lost and eventually Warren came to save her - not to tell her *how* to
do it, but to tell her that *she* could do it - in her own way that everyone
loved. So once again Tally works her way up higher and higher and gains
more creditation for her name.
"I want you around in the morning."
"You already have me around in the
morning. How, I have no idea."
"I want to know you're legally required
to be there."
Tally was not satisfied however, she wanted him
around in the morning - and so proposed.
Following this is a series of dramatic events
which furthered their relationship and her career path. Through all this
however, was Warren's desire to get back into the job he was once so acclaimed
in, but at the same time he 'wanted it to be fun' again.
Tally and Warren part ways as he goes to Panama
to nail a story which will once again take him to the top. Meanwhile, an
award winning coverage of a jail riot takes Tally to a very prestigious
position and so she is in for another move.
In a heartbreaking scene at her farewell party,
at which during the same time she is waiting for her beloved husband to
return home to her on a flight which is due that day, a news story which
will change her life forever emerges on the television screen in the office.
I won't ruin the story for those who have not seen
this movie. All I can say is it is a moving story of a woman who made it
to the top, with the help and guidance of a man who loved her. It is an
absolutely beautiful movie with many emotions and dramas which are overcome
by perseverance and love, and although it may seem tragic at times, it
may be said that success prevails and at least wonderful memories are kept.
Michelle Pfeiffer and Robert Redford are dynamite in this film and I very
very highly recommend this romantic drama to anyone.
"What we in the news business
can never forget is that we are only as good as the stories we tell."

BECAUSE YOU LOVED ME
For all those times you stood by me
For all the truth that you made me see
For all the joy you brought to my life
For all the wrong that you made right
For every dream you made come true
For all the love I found in you
I'll be forever thankful baby
You're the one who held me up
Never let me fall
You're the one who saw me through, through it all
* chorus*
You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am Because you loved me
*
You gave me wings and made me fly
You touched my hand I could touch the sky
I lost my faith you gave it back to me
You said no star was out of reach
You stood by me and I stood tall
I had your love I had it all
I'm grateful for each day you gave me
Maybe I don't know that much
But I know this much is true
I was blessed because I was loved by you
chorus
You were always there for me
The tender wind that carried me
A light in the dark shining your love into my life
You've been my inspiration
Through the lies you were the truth
My world is a better place because of you
