Symptoms
of Inner Peace

Be on the look
out for symptoms of Inner Peace.
The
hearts of many have already been exposed to inner peace, and it is possible
that people everywhere could come down with it in epidemic proportions.
This could place a serious threat to what has up to now been a fairly stable
condition of conflict in the world.
*Some signs
of Inner Peace:
-
A tendency to think
and act spontaneously rather than on fears based on past experiences.
-
An unmistakable ability
to enjoy each moment.
-
A loss of interest in
judging others or self.
-
A loss of interest in
interpreting the actions of others.
-
A loss of interest in
conflict.
-
A loss of ability to
worry (this is a very serious symptom).
-
Frequent overwhelming
episodes of appreciation.
-
Contented feelings of
connectedness with others and nature.
-
Frequent attacks of
smiling.
-
An increasing tendency
to let things happen rather than make them happen.
-
An increased susceptibility
to love extended by others, as well as an uncontrollable urge to extend
it.
WARNING: If you have
some or all of the above symptoms, please be advised that your condition
of Inner Peace may be so far advanced as to not be curable. If you
are exposed to anyone exhibiting any of these symptoms, remain exposed
at your own risk.

Philosophies On Life

1. You will receive
a body - You may like it, you may hate it,
but it is yours to keep to the end; so look after it.
2. You will learn
lessons - You are enrolled in a full-time
informal school called 'life'.
3. There are no
mistakes, only lessons - Life is a continual
process of trial and error. The experiments that fail are as much
a part of the process as the ones that work.
4. Lessons are repeated
until they are learned - A lesson will be
presented to you in a variety of forms until you have learnt it.
When you have learnt it, you can go on to the next lesson.
5. Your learning
curve is infinite - There's no part of life
that does not contain lessons. If you're alive, then there are lessons
you still have to learn.
6. The greenest
grass is under your feet - When your 'there'
becomes your 'here' you will simply find another 'there' that will look
better than your 'here'.
7. Other people
are merely mirrors of you - You cannot love
something about another person unless it reflects something you love about
yourself. Similarly, if you dislike something about another person
it reflects something about who you are.
8. What you make
of your life is up to you - You have all the
tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you.
The choice is yours.
9. Your answers
lie within you - The answer to life's questions
lie within you. All you need to do is look and trust.
10. You will forget
all this!

Attitude
is everything...
~
received in my email...
Jerry was the
kind of guy you love to hate. He was always in a good mood and always
had something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he
was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!"
He was
a unique manager because he had several waiters who had followed him around
from restaurant to restaurant. The reason the waiters followed Jerry was
because of his attitude. He was a natural motivator. If an employee was
having a bad day, Jerry was there telling the employee how to look on the
positive side of the situation.
Seeing
this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry and asked
him, "I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time.
How do you do it?"
Jerry
replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, Jerry, you have two
choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose
to be in a bad mood.' I choose to be in a good mood.
Each time
something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn
from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining,
I can choose to accept their
complaining
or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side
of life."
"Yeah,
right, but it's not that easy," I protested.
"Yes
it is," Jerry said. "Life is all about choices. When you cut away
all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react
to situations. You choose how people will affect your mood.
You
choose to be in a good or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice
how you live life."
I reflected
on what Jerry said. Soon thereafter, I left the restaurant industry to
start my own
business.
We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about
life instead of reacting to it. Several years later, I heard that Jerry
did something you are never supposed to do in a
restaurant
business: he left the back door open one morning and was held up
at gunpoint by three armed robbers. While trying to open the safe, his
hand, shaking from nervousness, slipped off
the
combination. The robbers panicked and shot him. Luckily, Jerry was found
relatively quickly and rushed to the local trauma center.
After
18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from
the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body.
I saw
Jerry about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was,
he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be twins. Wanna see my scars?"
I declined
to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the
robbery took place.
"The
first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the
back door," Jerry replied. "Then, as I lay on the floor, I remembered
that I had two choices: I could choose to live, or I could choose
to die. I chose to live."
"Weren't you
scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked. Jerry continued, "The
paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine.
But when they wheeled me into the emergency room and I saw the expressions
on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes,
I read, 'He's a dead man.' I knew I needed to take action."
"What
did you do?" I asked. "Well, there was a big, burly nurse shouting questions
at me," said Jerry. "She asked if I was allergic to anything. 'Yes,' I
replied. The doctors and nurses stopped
working
as they waited for my reply..I took a deep breath and yelled, 'Bullets!'
Over their laughter, I told them, 'I am choosing to live. Operate on me
as if I am alive, not dead."
Jerry
lived thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing
attitude. I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live
fully.
Attitude,
after all, is everything.
You have 2
choices now:
1. Save
and delete this mail from your mail box.
2. Forward
it to your dear ones and choose choice # 1.
Hope,
you will choose choice 2.

A
Sad Story

Around The
Corner: By Henson Towne
Around the corner
I have a friend,
In this great
city that has no end,
Yet the days
go by and weeks rush on,
And before I
know it, a year is gone.
And I never
see my old friends face,
For life is
a swift and terrible race,
He knows I like
him just as well,
As in the days
when I rang his bell.
And he rang
mine
If, we were
younger then,
And now we are
busy, tired men.
Tired of playing
a foolish game,
Tired of trying
to make a name.
"Tomorrow" I
say "I will call on Jim"
"Just to show
that I'm thinking of him."
But tomorrow
comes and tomorrow goes,
And distance
between us grows and grows.
Around the corner!-
yet miles away,
"Here's a telegram
sir, Jim died today."
And that's what
we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner,
a vanished friend.
Remember to
always say what you mean.
If you love
someone, tell them.
Don't be afraid
to express yourself.
Reach out and
tell someone what they mean to you.
Because when
you decide that it is the right time, it might be too late.
Seize the day.
Never have regrets.
And most importantly,
stay close to your friends and family, for they
have helped
make you the person that you are today.
Pass this along
to your friends. It could make a difference. The
difference between
doing all that you can or having regrets which may
stay with you
forever.

A
test... are you ruled by your
head
or your heart??
Put your
palms together and entwine your fingers...
Is
your left thumb over your right thumb or vice versa?(whatever feels more
comfortable)
If
your left thumb is over your right, that means you let your heart rule
over
your mind.
If
you right thumb is over your left, that means you let your mind rule over
your heart.
