"WhatEVER!!!"

This is the hippest, coolest and best 90s romantic comedy ever! However, I do believe that it can only be understood and enjoyed by people of the younger generation - as in, people who were/are teens in the 90s.

OK, on with the story...

This is Cher - she is like, way cool and did I mention, way rich!

This is Cher's best friend, Dionne - they became friends because "they both know what it
is like to have people be jealous of them". Here is Murray, Dionne's boyfriend - you
see, unlike Cher, Dionne has chosen to have a guy who is in 'high school'! Dionne and Murray often argue when in public, but when alone they treat each other sweetly and with respect - and they get things together even more after a certain hilarious highway incident!
ANYWAY, Cher decides to be a do-gooder when she finds an utterly clueless new girl named Tai. She and Dionne totally make Tai over and lead her through a string of 'proper' choices, however, they try to defeat fate and prevent Tai from being with the one she *really* likes....
Travis!
Cher continues her do-gooding when she formulates a plan to make two teachers so love sick that they mark 'more fairly!!!' These two end up so in love that they get married - but I'm skipping ahead of myself here...

Meanwhile in Cher's life, Josh, her Daddy's ex-wife's son, is staying with them, and Cher finds it hard to admit to herself at first that he is, well... kind of a Baldwin! At first she is like, totally annoyed that he is there 'cause he is simply going through that 'post adolescent idealistic stage'!

So, ignoring the Baldwin features Josh portrays, Cher falls for the rebellious
Christian. She failed to notice however, that 'the boy can dress' and unfortunately for her, Murray informs her that he is indeed 'a cake boy'!

As we progress through the hilarious series of events in this *very* 90s fashion, we discover that Cher begins to realise that she is lonely, and perhaps it is because she can be slightly selfish or self centered at times - for the first time in her life, Cher feels clueless.

So, we see Cher put aside her mobile phone, and other material possessions for a while, as she decides to 'make-over her soul'. While she goes about turning her own life around for the better though, and begins looking for a Baldwin of her own, Tai informs her that she likes Josh. For some reason this strikes a cord in Cher and she tells Tai that she doesn't think they would 'mesh well'. Tai takes offense and insults Cher in a 'way harsh' manner.

Cher goes for replenishment at the mall and all of a sudden it hits her - she is madly in love with Josh! Ordinarily Cher has no problems getting the guys she wants - but this is after all, Josh! However, we could tell that Josh was sorta diggin' on her too and the scene that finally gets them together just couldn't be any sweeter.

This is simply an excellent romantic comedy, with many elements of both comedy and romance contained within the story. The jargon makes it enlighteningly fresh and the whole experience leaves you buzzing for weeks.

This movie definitely gets

"Two enthusiastic thumbs up!"
